Mastering Emotions: The Key to Happiness

0

Introduction

Our emotions can be our enemy OR friend.

Lord Krishna in Bhagavadgita chapter 6, verse 6, sends a message to mankind about the mind, as follows. “Mind can be your enemy OR friend depending on how you treat it. For those who have conquered the mind, it is their friend. For those who have failed to do so, the mind is their enemy.” Our moods and mood swings are due to the emotions OR feelings in our emotional mind.

Why did Lord Krishna say that? – He said so because the mind is everything to us, as it drives us to do things in our day-to-day lives. The thoughts in our minds, being more nuanced, influence our actions in our daily lives.

That’s why Lord Krishna told mankind to nurture good thoughts in mind, as good thoughts drive him to do good deeds. When filled with good thoughts, the mind behaves like a friend. Instead, if the mind is full of bad thoughts, they will drive him to do bad things, thus attracting pain. The mind in this case behaves like an enemy.

The mind is an infinitely complex entity.

God created human beings with infinitely complex minds. Humans use their minds to think, and their thoughts are influenced by emotions, which drive their actions. To understand the mind holistically and its crucial role in life, one must recognize that the human mind is composed of three parts, as follows:

  • Logical Mind (LM)
  • Emotional Mind (EM)
  • Subconscious Mind (SM)

Logical mind (LM)

God has given humans a “logical mind” to think analytically. The LM helps man determine right from wrong in any situation and is essential for understanding anything scientifically. Since it plays a key role in critical thinking, it is heavily involved in scientific experiments, explorations, discoveries, inventions, innovations, and problem-solving. However, while the logical mind offers many benefits, it also has drawbacks. So, to lead a happy life, one should not overuse his reasoning mind. The LM impresses man’s emotional mind; The paragraph below explains how EM and LM are linked.

Emotional mind (EM)

God has blessed humans with the emotional mind to experience emotions in life. The EM listens to the LM and receives “THOUGHTS” from it.

Our thoughts will become emotions.

The thoughts, eventually become impressions and then turn into emotions in the EM. One’s desires can turn into emotions and end up sitting inside EM. That’s when man will work towards fulfilling them. The deeper one’s yearnings are, the more aggressive he gets in turning them into reality.  So, one can say emotions drive a man to do things in life.

For example,

  • If someone loves the Mercedes car and frequently thinks about it deeply, his thoughts will develop into emotions. If the desire for the automobile is intense, these emotions will become stronger, making the person take action to purchase the car. When he finally buys his beloved car, it results in joy. This is a “HAPPY EMOTION
    .
  • If someone consistently believes that they are suffering from health issues and experiences constant pain, they may eventually develop the emotion of a “suffering patient” in their emotional makeup. This emotion can be very harmful, leading to feelings of sadness and depression. It is referred to as a “SAD EMOTION.”
  • If one is constantly critical of his looks, finances, societal standing, and other aspects, he may develop low self-esteem, also known as “SAD EMOTION

The summary is, that our thoughts and what we say about ourselves are significant because they can turn into emotions. Our emotions have the power to make us happy or sad. Therefore, we should avoid thinking or saying things that make us feel bad or that might hurt someone.

Subconcious mind (SM)

One of the greatest entities God has ever created is SM which carries all the karma and memories of all the previous lives. The live recordings of all incidents and people that the person met in the past lives are stored along with pictures of their faces and their names. When the soul leaves the gross body it goes with captured experiences of that life. However, the SM always listens to our EM.

SM always listens to EM.

Though SM has infinite power, it listens to EM and takes orders from it. The language SM understands is “emotions”. That means, whatever emotions EM holds on to for a long time, the SM starts acting on it. What does SM do with the emotions? The answer is below.

SM is connected to the infinite Universe.

The SM and the Universe are intrinsically connected. Based on the emotions, the SM can pull in whatever from the universe and make it manifest in life. SM is so powerful that there is NOTHING that it CANNOT attract. So, one should use the right emotions to attract whatever one wants. How does SM attract things? It is done through frequency matching – what is that? The answer is given below.

Our thoughts and emotions vibrate in various frequencies.

The thoughts in our LM vibrate at different frequencies, just like the emotions stored in our EM. According to modern science, everything in the universe is composed of frequencies, so all matter vibrates at its unique frequency. When we hold onto certain emotions in our EM, the SM matches those frequencies. Then, the SM draws in the matter and manifests it.

How does frequency matching work?

  • The emotions of fear –

If someone constantly feels afraid that he might be robbed or mugged while walking home from the office in his neighborhood, that fear will become deeply ingrained as a “FEAR EMOTION” in the EM. The emotions of fear are detected by the subconscious mind (SM), which then attracts similar incidents, events, and people who resonate with that frequency of fear. Consequently, a person may find himself experiencing multiple mugging or robbery incidents, leading to a deeper emotional immersion in fear.

  • The emotions of happiness

If someone feels positive about life and dreams of purchasing a beautiful house with a lawn, and constantly daydreams about his ideal home, his desire becomes a “HAPPY EMOTION” associated with owning a house. As this emotion gets intense, the SM detects it and searches the universe for a house or concept that aligns with that happy emotion. Ultimately, the person will attract his dream house.

There are “n” number of emotions and the SM acts in “n” number of ways to pull things from the Universe and make them manifest.

Secret to attract wealth & happiness

So, the moral of the story is, if you want to attract “GOOD THINGS” and be “HAPPY” in life, you have to make sure you nurture “HAPPY THOUGHTS” or “POSITIVE THOUGHTS”.

How do you create happy thoughts?

Happy thoughts can come with the following things

  • An optimistic view of life.
  • Has a big dream in life.

People may ask “My life is in a doldrum and everything seems upside down. How can I be optimistic about life?” – The answer is that life is full of ups and downs and never a straight line”.  Everything is changing and nothing is constant, so is our problem. Like day follows night, our good times will follow bad times. Many successful people held on to their dreams despite facing hellish situations on the ground.

Let’s look briefly into the lives of a few people who made it big notwithstanding the chaos on the ground.

  • Louis Vuitton –

In 1837, 16-year-old Louis Vuitton walked to Paris, starving and exhausted. He was poor, yet he had a dream to make it big in life. He came to Paris seeking an apprenticeship with Monsieur Maréchal, a renowned trunk-maker (suitcase).

After 17 years of training, Louis Vuitton founded his “Louis Vuitton Couture” at 4 Rue Neuve-des-Capucines. For the first time, he introduced the flat-topped, stackable trunks that forever changed luxury travel. The rest, they say is history. Louis Vuitton became a multi-billion-dollar company at the turn of the last century and the founder became a billionaire.

  • Dhirubhai Ambani

Dhirubhai Ambani was born in British India in 1932. After completing his SSC at the age of 16, he went to Yemen in 1948 and started working at a petrol bunk there. Though he was from a poor family, he had an unsatiable hunger for success in life and was a big dreamer. From the day he arrived until his passing in 2002, he worked tirelessly to realize his dreams despite facing numerous challenges. Going from a penniless boy in 1948 to a billionaire in 2002, his life has inspired numerous people to dream big and succeed.

Many people have achieved great success in life, including businessmen, freedom fighters, philosophers, singers, musicians, artists, movie directors, and others. They overcame numerous challenges in their daily lives to succeed because their desires were genuine and intense.

When we are deeply focused on our desires, mere thinking about them brings us joy, and being in the “JOYFUL EMOTION” most of the time, is key to attracting what we desire. It could be a dream house, car, money, health, wealth, OR anything.

Affirmations

The mind needs to be conditioned to consistently generate and maintain “HAPPY EMOTIONS.” Life will have its highs and lows for everyone, and it requires extra support to remain “CALM and COMPOSED” regardless of the circumstances. To stay calm, the EM needs positive thoughts, which can be cultivated through affirmations and positive self-talk. A simple affirmation could be as follows:

  • I am very happy.
  • I am hale and healthy.
  • I am wealthy.
  • I am extremely lucky.
  • I am under divine protection and I am safe.

What is stated here is the minimum, but more can be added. The affirmations can be repeated as much as desired. The more one says affirmations, the happier one will feel.

Conclusion

Man is always in pursuit of happiness, yet he doesn’t know where to find it. When he realizes that his mind is responsible for his HAPPINESS or SADNESS, his curiosity about how the mind functions, grows. Once he understands how his memory works, it becomes easier to use it to achieve his goals.

GOOD THOUGHTS and HAPPY EMOTIONS are required to attract good things in life. Based on the theory explained above, one should make every attempt to be HAPPY in life, because it is worth it.

Constantly feeling angry or sad, anxious or fearful, disappointed, or complaining will ruin one’s life. It’s important to not dwell on these emotions for too long. Every effort should be made to come out of those negative emotions as soon as possible. Otherwise, it can attract negativity and unleash all sorts of troubles from within the body and outside.
