PM Modi to Unveil Major Development Initiatives During Maharashtra Visit

A Day of Empowerment and Infrastructure Expansion in Washim and Thane

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to visit Maharashtra on October 5th. During his visit, he will launch a series of significant initiatives. These initiatives aim at enhancing the agricultural sector, promoting urban mobility, and celebrating cultural heritage.

In Washim, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Banjara Virasat Museum, honoring the rich heritage of the Banjara community. Following this, he will announce various initiatives related to agriculture and animal husbandry, totaling approximately Rs 23,300 crore. This includes disbursing the 18th installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi scheme, benefiting around 9.4 crore farmers and amounting to Rs 20,000 crore.

Over 7,500 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) will be dedicated to the nation. These projects are valued at Rs 1,920 crore. These projects encompass custom hiring centers, warehouses, and post-harvest management initiatives. The Prime Minister will also unveil technological advancements. These include a Unified Genomic Chip for cattle. There is also indigenous sex-sorted semen technology. The aim is to make breeding practices more efficient for farmers.

In Thane, the Prime Minister‘s focus will shift to urban mobility. He will inaugurate the BKC to Aarey JVLR section of Mumbai Metro Line 3. He will also lay the foundation for several crucial infrastructure projects. This metro line is projected to accommodate 12 lakh passengers daily, significantly enhancing public transport in the area. Other initiatives include the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project. The Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension will also improve connectivity between South Mumbai and Thane.

The total investment in these projects exceeds Rs 32,800 crore. PM Modi’s visit marks a pivotal step towards sustainable development. It also aims to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Maharashtra.
