Tourism in and around Mysuru and other Cities of the Region
We plan to introduce the tourists to the places of historical importance in various cities of the Mysuru region – Mysuru, Madikeri, Hassan, Nanjangud, Chamarajanagar etc. Our intention is to expose those hidden GEMS, which fill our chests with PRIDE/ HAPPINESS for being born into a culture that built these relics, to the outer world. We begin with Mysuru.
The royal city of Mysuru is blessed with many tourist attractions, thanks to the erstwhile monarchy, the city has got many relics of her “glorious past” like Ambavilas palace, Jaganmohan palace art gallery, Ranganathittu bird sanctuary, Rail museum, Chamundeshwari temple, KrishnaRaja Sagar dam & brindavan gardens, Ranganathaswamy temple, Jayalakshmi vilas palace mansion, St philomina church, Lalitha Mahal palace hotel, Rajendra vilas palace hotel, Chitaranjan Palace (now green hotel) and many many others.
It is in our interest to comprehensively cover all the tourist attractions including heritage temples in and around Mysuru, Hassan, ChamarajaNagar, Nanjangud, Madikeri cities. We are bringing a series of articles on each of these attractions, which will eventually turn into a one-stop-shop for all the information about the temples. Tourists from all-over-the world who want to visit these temples will find the information useful to plan their travel itinerary.
To make things easy, we want to categorize tourist attractions into groupings.
- Temple Circuit – grouping of temples in and around each cities
- Heritage Circuit – grouping of palaces in Mysuru city
- Eatery Circuit – grouping of famous eateries in and around each cities
- Other Attraction Circuit – grouping of all other attractions which do not fall under the above category.
Our motive is to bring a satisfied “big smile” on the faces of tourists who will check in on the attractions. We request tourists to brace themselves up for an adrenaline-gushing roller-coaster ride to all attractions, which will be unveiled shortly.
Our next few articles will be on each of the attractions in and around Mysuru to begin with and extend to other cities to help tourists have an eventful visit.
