Bengaluru, June 7, 2024 – Exciting news for travelers! Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (BLR Airport) will soon have non-stop flights to London Gatwick (LGW), thanks to Air India. This new service starts on August 18, 2024, with flights available five times a week.
Enhanced Connectivity to London
With the launch of this new route, Bengaluru becomes the first Indian city to offer direct flights to both of London’s major airports: Heathrow and Gatwick. This strengthens the economic and cultural ties between India and the UK.

Satyaki Raghunath, Chief Operating Officer at Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), expressed his excitement about the new development. “We are thrilled about this new route, which strengthens our partnership with Air India and enhances our connectivity to London.
This will boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchange. London is one of our busiest long-haul markets, and the new service provides our passengers with a choice of airports in London.”

Comfortable Travel Experience
Air India will use its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft for these flights, featuring 18 flat beds in Business class and 238 spacious seats in Economy. This will ensure a comfortable and convenient travel experience for passengers.
