Expanding E-Bus Infrastructure
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a leading renewable energy and electric vehicle charging service provider in India, has made significant strides in promoting e-mobility.
The company has installed over 850 charging points, powering more than 2300 electric buses across major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Goa, Jammu, and Srinagar. This initiative supports the transition to electric public transport.
Supporting State Transport Corporations
Tata Power has collaborated with State Transport Corporations such as DTC, BEST, BMTC, JSCL, SSCL, and BRTS-AJL. These partnerships enable the installation of charging points at over 30 bus depots nationwide.
The charging infrastructure features high-capacity fast chargers ranging from 180 to 240 KW, capable of charging buses in 1 to 1.5 hours, ensuring efficient operation for public transport.
Environmental Impact
The expansive charging network has resulted in a significant reduction of tailpipe CO2 emissions, saving more than 1 lakh tonnes. This contribution aligns with India’s Net Zero goals, emphasizing Tata Power’s commitment to reducing carbon footprints and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
