Udyan Express to benefit
The 11301/11302 Udyan Express, an express train operates between Mumbai CSTM and KSR Bengaluru. It is the only dedicated train operating between the Finance capital and the Tech Capital of India.
The track upgrade between Pune and Daund will benefit Udyan Express. Currently the train takes 20 plus hours to cover the distance between the end destinations. The recent decision by the railways to upgrade its network to 130 KMPH in a phased manner is a positive step towards reducing journey hours.
Pune Daund Track Speed Upgradation
In a major milestone, the Central Railway has achieved a significant upgrade on the tracks between Pune and Daund allowing for a maximum speed of 130 KMPH.
The extensive works undertaken for this upgrade included track preparation, OHE (Overhead Equipment) regulation, and signaling adjustments. These efforts have successfully prepared this section to accommodate trains running at 130 kmph.
As a result of this upgrade, all rolling stock and locomotives capable of operating at 130 kmph will gradually increase their speeds to match this new limit.
The process of upgrading the train speed from the previous 110 KMPH to the current 130 KMPH commenced on August 28 ,2023 in the Pune-Daund section.
Remarkably, it marked the debut of the 130 kmph speed limit. With 18520 LTT-VSKP Express being the first train to run at this enhanced speed in the upgraded section.
On August 29, 2023, the Central Railway has plans to operate the 22944 Indore-Daund Express. And the 11301 CSMT Mumbai- KSR Bengaluru Udyan Express at 130 KMPH on August 29, 2023.
This speed upgrade will benefit a total of 22 pairs of LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) trains.
This track upgrade to 130 KMPH is expected to bring about reduced running times, improved train speeds, and enhanced punctuality. The Central Railways announced this via their official X account.
