MUMBAI, INDIA, JANUARY 9, 2024: Tata Starbucks Private Limited is set to accelerate its growth in India with a bold plan to operate 1,000 stores by 2028. This announcement comes as part of Starbucks’ Triple Shot Reinvention Strategy, aiming for a new store opening every three days. The strategy focuses on job creation, customer experience, and promoting Indian-origin coffee globally.
Doubling Workforce and Expanding to Tier 2 and 3 Cities
To achieve the goal of 1,000 stores, Tata Starbucks plans to double its workforce to approximately 8,600 partners. The company is expanding its presence to Tier 2 and 3 cities, as well as diversifying store formats, including drive-thrus and 24-hour stores. This expansion is in response to India’s growing economy and strategic importance for Starbucks.

Elevating Coffee Experiences
Tata Starbucks is committed to enhancing the coffee experience in India. The company will open its second Starbucks Reserve® store this year, catering to coffee enthusiasts who seek premium experiences. The new store aims to create unique connections with customers through the artistry and craft of Starbucks® black apron Coffee Masters.
Showcasing Indian Arabica Coffee
In an effort to promote high-quality Indian arabica coffee, Starbucks Reserve® whole bean coffee Monsooned Malabar from India will be available at Starbucks Reserve® Stores in both India and the U.S. This move underscores Tata Starbucks’ commitment to showcasing India’s rich coffee heritage.

Investing in Partner Development
