Key Takeaways
Under the MoU, Airbnb and UTDB will focus on the following key areas:
- Capacity Building: Airbnb will conduct workshops in select pilot locations to enhance local hospitality standards and promote responsible hosting practices. A group of ‘model hosts’ will be trained to further educate their communities.
- Onboarding Homestays: The partnership will emphasize bringing homestays onto the Airbnb platform. Workshops in pilot destinations will guide ‘model hosts’ on profile setup, listing optimization, and photography to attract travelers.
- Robust Homestay Ecosystem: Airbnb will assess homestay-specific gaps in pilot destinations, sharing insights with UTDB. This information will aid UTDB in formulating a targeted support strategy for homestays, promoting inclusive growth.
- Training & Integration: Airbnb will collaborate with district tourism officers as points of contact for seamless coordination. They will offer venue support for workshops, share a list of registered homestays, and mobilize ‘model hosts.’
