In a notable initiative to promote tourism, Indian Railways has successfully executed 172 trips of ‘Bharat Gaurav’ Trains during 2023, catering to a staggering 96,491 tourists.
The trains, designed under the theme-based circuits, have traversed various tourist destinations across 24 States and Union Territories, encapsulating India’s rich cultural heritage and historical landmarks.

Exploring Diverse Tourist Circuits
Under the ‘Bharat Gaurav’ Tourist Trains banner, these journeys have explored major tourist circuits, including the Shri Ram-Janaki Yatra from Ayodhya to Janakpur, Shri Jagannath Yatra, “Garvi Gujarat” tour, Ambedkar Circuit, and the North East tour.
Comprehensive Tour Packages for a Memorable Experience
The ‘Bharat Gaurav’ Trains offer a unique travel experience through comprehensive tour packages. These packages include off-board travel and excursions by buses, accommodation in hotels, services of tour guides, meals, travel insurance, and, of course, a comfortable train journey with onboard services.

Government’s Endeavors for Rail-based Tourism
The Ministry of Railways has actively contributed to the promotion of domestic tourism by introducing high-quality coaches under the ‘Bharat Gaurav’ Train scheme.
