In preparation for the upcoming Pongal Festival, the South Western Railway (SWR) has announced the operation of Pongal Special Trains between SMVT Bengaluru and Tiruchchirappalli.
The move aims to accommodate the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the festive season.

Train No. 06577 SMVT Bengaluru – Tiruchchirappalli Pongal Special:
- Departure: 14:30 hrs on 12th January, 2024 (Friday) from SMVT Bengaluru
- Arrival: 23:30 hrs on the same day at Tiruchchirappalli
Train No. 06578 Tiruchchirappalli – SMVT Bengaluru Pongal Special:
- Departure: 04:45 hrs on 13th January, 2024 (Saturday) from Tiruchchirappalli
- Arrival: 12:00 hrs on the same day at SMVT Bengaluru
