Yesvantpur Karatagi Express to skip Ballari railway station for 30 Days

Due to the suspension of passenger train movement o­n platform-3 for improvement works at Ballari railway station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Train Nos. 16545/16546 Yesvantpur Karatagi Express daily will be diverted for a period of 30 days, as detailed below:

Train No. 16545 Yesvantpur-Karatagi Daily Express, leaving from Yesvantpur from September 24 to October 23, 2023 will be diverted to run via Obalapuram, Ballari Bypass Cabin, Ballari Cantonment and Kudatini stations, skipping stoppage at Ballari Junction.

Train No. 16546 Karatagi-Yesvantpur Daily Express, leaving from Karatagi from September 25 to October 24, 2023 will be diverted to run via Kudatini, Ballari Cantonment, Ballari Bypass Cabin and Obalapuram stations, skipping stoppage at Ballari Junction.

These trains (16545/46) will be provided with 5-minute temporary stoppages at Ballari Cantonment Station for the convenience of passengers.

Yesvantpur Karatagi Express Coach Composition

The Express special service has a coach composition of One AC three tier, Four Sleeper class,  Six General sitting second class and Two Second class luggage cum brake-vans/disabled friendly compartment (13 coaches).

About Amrit Bharat Scheme

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is set to transform and revitalize 1309 railway stations across the nation, After its launch by PM Narendra Modi on Sunday, August 6, 2023, it will breathe new life into travel hubs and enhance the overall passenger experience. 

Amrit Bharat Station scheme envisages development of stations on a continuous basis with a long term vision. About 55 stations are being upgraded under this scheme in Karnataka. Bellary/Ballari Junction being one of them. The station is expected to be redeveloped with outlay of Rs 16.7 crores.

Amrit Bharat Station scheme envisages development of stations o­n a continuous basis with a long-term approach. It involves preparation of Master Plans and their implementation in phases to improve the amenities at the stations like improvement of station access, circulating areas, waiting halls, toilets, lift/escalators as necessary, cleanliness, free Wi-Fi, kiosks for local products through schemes like ‘One Station o­ne Product’, better passenger information systems, Executive Lounges, nominated spaces for business meetings, landscaping etc. keeping in view the necessity at each station.

The scheme also envisages improvement of building, integrating the station with both sides of the city, multimodal integration, amenities for Divyangjans, sustainable and environment friendly solutions, provision of ballastless tracks, ‘Roof Plazas’ as per necessity, phasing and feasibility and creation of city centres at the station in the long term.
