Features of Amrit Bharat Trains
These trains, a testament to ‘Make in India’ innovation by Indian Railways, serve as superfast express services for intercity travel. Noteworthy features include:
- Equipped with semi-coupler technology, offering a smooth, jerk-free journey at a maximum speed of 130 Km.
- A push-pull approach for a unique blend of speed, efficiency, comfort, and affordability.
- Better acceleration and deceleration for time-saving at bridges, curves, and other restricted speed areas.
- Additional features such as horizontal sliding windows, dust-sealed wider gangways, aerosol-based fire suppression system in toilets and electrical cubicles, emergency disaster management light, and floor guide fluorescent strips.
- Sealed gangways for safe transitions between coaches, reducing noise and vibrations.
The Push-Pull Locomotives (WAP-5) are manufactured at Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), Chittaranjan, one of India’s largest locomotive manufacturing units. Coaches are produced by Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, the world’s largest railway passenger rolling stock manufacturer. This collaborative effort ensures precision and efficiency in both the driving engine and passenger compartments, promising a remarkable travel experience for passengers between large cities and small towns.
