Chennai-based Rane (Madras) Limited, a leading manufacturer of steering and suspension products, announces the establishment of a greenfield facility in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The facility, operated by its subsidiary Rane Automotive Components Mexico (RACM), will manufacture steering and suspension components for passenger vehicles. The first project involves supplying inner and outer ball joints for an upcoming electric vehicle platform by a major American OEM, set to launch in 2025 with an estimated annual sales value of INR 80 Crores.
Aguascalientes, strategically located in the Bajio region, was chosen for its proximity to key automotive players like Nissan and tier-1 suppliers. The initial investment in RACM is USD 3 million, expected to rise to USD 6 million in the next 12 to 18 months. RACM is eyeing additional opportunities worth INR 250 Crores for North American vehicle platforms.
Mr. Harish Lakshman, Vice Chairman of Rane Group, emphasized the facility’s alignment with their international growth strategy. The new facility positions Rane to meet the growing demand for steering and suspension components in North America, capitalizing on the trend of parts localization driven by the USMCA agreement.
