Reinstating the “Nandi Express” name to the present 12609/10 Mysuru-Chennai Express
The Nandi Express was a prominent train that was operated during the meter gauge era between Mysuru and Bengaluru.
After the railway track between Mysuru and Bengaluru was converted to broad gauge, the train was not reintroduced.
The discontinuation of the train “Nandi Express” has left many disheartened, and there is a yearning for a connection to the glorious past of our railway heritage through the train by name “Nandi Express”.
Given the emotional significance and historical value of the meter gauge era, Shri MP Pratap Simha has urged the Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw to reinstate the original name to the present 12609/10 Mysuru MGR Chennai Superfast Express as “Nandi Express”.
