In a welcome news for travelers, special train services between Mumbai and Mangaluru have been announced. This is to accommodate the surge in passenger demand during the 2023 Deepavalli Festival.
These special trains are a joint effort by Central Railway and Southern Railway. Here are the details you need to know:
Train No. 01185 / 01186 Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Mangaluru Jn. – Lokmanya Tilak (T) Weekly Special:
- Train No. 01185, Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Mangaluru Jn. Weekly Special, will depart from Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 22:15 every Friday between October 20, 2023, and December 1, 2023. The train will reach Mangaluru Jn. at 17:05 hrs the next day.
- Train No. 01186, Mangaluru Jn. – Lokmanya Tilak (T) Weekly Special, will leave Mangaluru Jn. at 18:45 every Saturday from October 21, 2023, to December 2, 2023. It will arrive at Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 14:25 hrs the following day.
This Mumbai Mangaluru train will make stops at various stations, including Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon Jn., Karwar, Gokarna Road, Kumta, Murdeshwar, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi, Mulki, and Surathkal stations.
The total composition of these trains includes 21 coaches, distributed as follows: 2 Tier AC – 01 Coach, 3 Tier AC – 05 Coaches, Sleeper – 08 Coaches, General – 05 Coaches, SLR – 02.
