In a significant move towards enhancing railway connectivity, MP Pratap Simha from Mysore-Kodagu met with Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav in New Delhi today. The primary focus of the discussion was the extension of the Barmer-Yesvantpur train to Mysore and the initiation of a weekly train from Mysore to Rameswaram.
Positive Response from Union Railway Minister
Shri Pratap Simha’s proposal received a positive response from Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav, who assured that the necessary approvals for these developments would be granted shortly.

Inauguration of Key Projects in Mysuru City
In addition to the railway connectivity discussions, Union Minister of Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnav has been invited to inaugurate several projects in Mysore city.
These projects fall under the purview of the Ministry of Railways and Telecom-
CONCOR Multimodal Logistics Park at Kadakola
A significant step towards enhancing logistics, a mulitmodal logistics park near Kadakola has been established at a cost of Rs.102 crore by the Container Corporation of India. Spanning 55 acres, this terminal will facilitate efficient cargo handling. The MMLP has been established under PM Gati Shakti mission.

Development of Ashokapuram Railway Yard
Mysuru city’s Ashokapuram Railway Yard has undergone a comprehensive transformation. The upgradation cost is approximately Rs. 30 crores. The works included the development of a well-equipped station, a pedestrian overpass, 02 platforms, 02 stabling lines, and a modern parking system. These works will enable introduction of new trains to Mysuru.
STPI Incubation Center in Hebbal Industrial Area
The Software Technology Park of India (STPI) incubation center is constructed at the Hebbal Industrial Area, near Infosys, on the outskirts of Mysore city. It has been developed with an investment of Rs.27.64 crore. The center would feature plug and play services, providing cost effective platform for small sized startups. It aims to bolster the technological infrastructure in the region.
MP Pratap Simha, expressed his enthusiasm for these developments, and stated that these projects would not only enhance connectivity but also contribute significantly to the economic and technological growth of Mysore city and its surrounding areas.
