In a move to augment the railway infrastructure in Mysuru city, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM/W/MYS) has invited E-Tenders for various development works at Ashokapuram Railway Station in Mysuru.
Ashokpuram Railway station has already seen yard remodeling and development of station entry building among other amenities. Further, the following works will be taken up to make Ashokpuram station emerge as a second important station in Mysuru city.
High-Level Platform on Road 7 (PF No.6) with Shelter
There will be a high-level platform, measuring 530 meters in length and 5.5 meters in width, on Road 7 (PF No.6). Further, a full-length platform shelter is set to be added to Platform 6, enhancing the station’s overall infrastructure.

Addition of New Platform, a directive from Member of Parliament
During the Gati Shakti meeting chaired by Member of Parliament Shri Pratap Simmha on October 4, 2023, the railway officials were directed to construct an additional platform at Ashokapuram Railway Station.
Conversion of Stabling Line into a Full-Fledged Platform
The MP’s suggestion included converting a stabling line near the second entry of Ashokapuram Railway Station into a full-fledged platform. This development will bring the total number of platforms at Ashokapuram to six, aligning it with the Mysuru Junction. The addition of new platform will enable introduction of new trains in future.

Additional Enhancements at Platforms 4 and 5
The upgradation project also includes the provision of a full-length IRS platform shelter spanning 20 bays on Platforms 4 and 5.
Development Phases at Ashokapuram Railway Station
Mysuru will see a significant transformation in train services with the expansion and remodeling of Ashokapuram Railway Station. This will address the city’s growing transit demands. To put in brief, the comprehensive upgradation were carried out in two phases. Phase 1, focusing on yard remodeling, with estimated at Rs. 15.7 crore, while Phase 2 comes with a cost of Rs. 13.39 crore. Therefore, these initiatives aim to enhance operational efficiency and modernize the railway infrastructure in Ashokapuram.
