Big Cup cafe, a Coorg-based coffee bean planter-and-brewer has opened its iconic branch in Namma Mysuru recently. According to the reports, coffee aficionados are thronging to this outlet to enjoy coffee and spend some quality time with their friends and relatives.
Located on the Gokulam Main road, this cafe with a sprawling campus is a must-visit for all coffee lovers. The outlet offers a long variety of coffees – from humble south Indian filter coffee to their most exemplary signature brews. Added to coffee are mouth-watering dishes like pasta, crispy veg burgers, sandwiches, and Pizzas. As per the founders, the Big Cup cafe was born out of the passion for planting top-rated coffee beans, making the brew, and offering the great-tasting cuppa to coffee lovers in India.
The promoters claim that most of the top-grade Indian coffee gets exported abroad with only the lower-grade coffee made available for consumption in India. The promoters wanted to change this by making available to Indian coffee lovers, the kinda coffee beans that are meant for export. This has brought an appreciation of premium coffee which coffee lovers rarely get to taste.
The promoters’ mission is to provide quality coffee, harvested right from their estates and provide a world-class coffee experience to their guests without fuss in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. Their coffee estates are Located in the Coorg region in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. The coffee served at Big Cup has been sourced from the estates owned and managed by the Sandalkad, and Thaikappa Families – promoters of BigCup cafe
The Western Ghats mountain range, where the farms are located, is one of the 25 biodiversity hotspots of the world and a UNESCO heritage site, home to numerous exotic species of flora & fauna. As an environmentally responsible enterprise, they claim to ensure the fragile ecosystem is well sustained and preserved. The carefully selected Arabica & Robusta plants grow under the two-tier canopy. Their coffee is bird-friendly and 100% shade grown.
The Sandalkad and Thaikappa families have owned and managed coffee plantations for generations and Big Cup is the fusion of expertise in farming and hospitality.
