Air India, one of India’s prominent global airlines, has exciting news for travelers. They are set to introduce the first-ever non-stop flights from Mumbai to Melbourne, Australia. Starting from 15 December 2023, Air India will operate this unique route, making it the sole non-stop operator between Mumbai and Australia.

The new Mumbai-Melbourne services will open the doors to over 40,000 new seats annually into the Australian state of Victoria. This is particularly significant as the Indian community in Victoria exceeds 200,000, constituting a substantial 40% of the total Indian diaspora in Australia. These new services aim to cater to the growing demand for visits to family and friends, as well as to meet the needs of business and leisure travelers in the region.

Travellers from 17 major Indian cities can now take convenient, one-stop connections to and from Melbourne via Delhi or Mumbai. This development further enhances two-way connectivity between London Heathrow and Melbourne, creating more accessible travel routes for passengers.
