Additional Medical Colleges: In her presentation of the Interim Budget 2024-25 in Parliament yesterday, Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, emphasized the importance of empowering the youth and advancing towards the goal of a developed India by 2047.

Utilizing Existing Hospital Infrastructure for New Medical Colleges

One of the key announcements made by the Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Finance Minister is the proposal to establish additional medical colleges. These new institutions will make use of the existing hospital infrastructure across various departments. This strategic approach aims to optimize resources while addressing the critical need for more medical education facilities.

Formation of Committee to Assess Infrastructure and Recommend Colleges

To facilitate the establishment of these medical colleges, a committee will be formed. This committee will be tasked with evaluating the current hospital infrastructure and providing recommendations for the setup of new medical institutions.

The Union Finance Minister highlighted the significance of this initiative, emphasizing its potential to not only create opportunities for aspiring medical professionals but also to enhance healthcare services for the general population.
