South Western Railway (SWR) has announced temporary stops for four trains from October 9 to October 13, 2024. This is to accommodate the expected rise in passenger numbers during the Dasara Festival. These adjustments are being made to ensure smoother travel during the festival period.
Temporary Stops for Mysuru-Shivamogga Town Trains
Train No. 16225, the Mysuru-Shivamogga Town Daily Express, will stop at several stations along the route to manage the festival rush. The temporary stops include:
- Belagula at 10:27/10:28 hrs
- Krishnarajasagar at 10:31/10:32 hrs
- Kallur Yadahalli at 10:36/10:37 hrs
- Sagarkatte at 10:41/10:42 hrs
- Dornahalli at 10:45/10:46 hrs
- Hampapura at 10:54/10:55 hrs
- Arjunahalli at 11:00/11:01 hrs
- Hosa Agrahara at 11:06/11:07 hrs
- Mavinkere at 12:03/12:04 hrs
On its return journey, Train No. 16226 from Shivamogga Town to Mysuru will have the same temporary halts in reverse order.
Temporary Stops for Mysuru-Talguppa Kuvempu Express
Train No. 16222, the Mysuru-Talguppa Kuvempu Daily Express, will also add temporary stops during the festival. The additional stops include:
- Krishnarajasagar at 14:17/14:18 hrs
- Kallur Yadahalli at 14:24/14:25 hrs
- Dornahalli at 14:35/14:36 hrs
- Hampapura at 14:49/14:50 hrs
- Arjunahalli at 14:55/14:56 hrs
The return service, Train No. 16221 from Talguppa to Mysuru, will have similar temporary stops in the reverse direction.
Festival Impact on Railway Services
These additional stops are specifically designed to ease travel for passengers attending the Dasara celebrations in Mysuru. The celebrations draw large crowds every year. Passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly and take advantage of these temporary services during the festival season.
