Gurugram, October 20, 2023 – In a significant move to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in Blockchain Technology, the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has officially opened its advanced incubation facility at the STPI-Gurugram campus.
The inauguration of this state-of-the-art facility was graced by Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY).

Apiary Center of Entrepreneurship (CoE): A Hub for Blockchain Technology Innovation
The newly inaugurated incubation facility, a part of the Apiary Center of Entrepreneurship (CoE), is an important initiative by STPI. Apiary CoE is dedicated to nurturing startups in the field of Blockchain Technology and is established in collaboration with MeitY, STPI, the Government of Haryana, Padup Ventures, IBM, Intel, GBA, and FITT. This CoE sets out to identify and support promising startups, aiming to promote entrepreneurship in Blockchain Technology.
The facility boasts a fully furnished incubation infrastructure spanning 7,000 square feet, equipped with 80 plug-and-play workstations, conference rooms, and an auditorium. It has set an ambitious goal of incubating a total of 100 startups over the course of five years.

MeitY Secretary’s Encouragement for Blockchain Technology
During the inauguration ceremony, MeitY Secretary Shri S. Krishnan took a tour of the Apiary incubation facility and interacted with the young entrepreneurs. He expressed his admiration for these innovative minds and their use of cutting-edge technology to address real-world problems. He noted that the innovation of these entrepreneurs transcends national boundaries, making them stand out in the tech world. Shri S. Krishnan emphasized the role of technology in India’s remarkable growth over the past three decades.

Shri Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary at MeitY, highlighted the potential of Blockchain technology in contributing to the country’s sustainable growth. He emphasized its versatility, stating that it can be applied from supply chain management to waste management, thereby becoming an enabler for sustainable development.

Shri Pankaj Thakar, Chief Mentor of Apiary CoE, shared insights into the journey of establishing the Apiary CoE Incubation facility. He discussed the challenges, milestones, and the immense effort invested in creating this hub for innovation and technological growth.

Shri Arvind Kumar, Director General of STPI, believes that the Apiary CoE’s incubation facility will bring about a revolutionary change in the technology sector. Conference on Sustainable Development Goals Thru Web 3.0
Prior to the inauguration, a conference on “Sustainable Development Goals Thru Web 3.0” took place. This conference featured two key sessions: “Sustainable Development Goals With Web 3.0: Challenges and Opportunities” and “Business Transformation with Web 3.0.” Distinguished speakers from various fields shared their insights with young entrepreneurs, further fostering innovation and collaboration.
