STPI Mysuru is a plug and play center offering affordable space and facilities to startups.
STPI Mysuru incubation center (Software Technology Parks of India) is under construction at Hebbal, Mysore (near Infosys) at a cost of Rs 27.64 Crores and preparations are underway to inaugurate it by Dasara 2023 i.e by the end of October 2023. This information was disclosed by Mysore Member of Parliament Shri Pratap Simha in his Tweet.
Background of STPI Mysuru
NDA Government, led by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, established the STPI Mysuru in 1998. Mysuru became the first non-capital city to host this esteemed IT facility. Over time, numerous homegrown IT companies became affiliated with STPI and experienced significant growth.
However, the vision of transforming IT into a major sector in Mysuru faced obstacles due to the neglect of subsequent State Governments in supporting local IT ventures. This was primarily due to the lack of dedicated incubation space and essential IT infrastructure. Consequently, many startups in Mysuru relocated to Bengaluru, where they thrived. Limited space and infrastructure at SJCE – STEP campus, Manasagangotri, largely contribute to the subpar ecosystem for tech startups in Mysuru.
In 2015, the Union Government launched a mission to establish state-of-the-art STPI centers across the nation, aiming to catalyze technological advancements in specialized fields. This mission brought hope to Mysuru and several other Tier 2 cities.
In 2016, the State Government allocated land owned by KEONICS with the intention of establishing a dedicated STPI center, which was destined to become the new home for STPI. This land is located in the Hootagalli Industrial area, adjacent to Infosys.
Broad Facilities available
The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) Mysuru campus will consist of two parts. The first part will feature a built-up area of 40,000 sqft, designed to accommodate approximately 200 workstations. These workstations will come equipped with an incubation center, 24×7 high-speed Internet, redundant UPS power, telecom services, and other modern amenities. This initiative holds significant potential to benefit individuals with startup aspirations.

The second part will encompass an open space spanning 6,000 sq ft. Companies interested in occupying the entire area and investing in their tailor-made infrastructure can utilize this space.
Current Status of the STPI Mysuru
The interior works are advancing rapidly, and expect inauguration of the facility by the end of October 2023.
