The Sub Division of National Highway Authority, Government of Karnataka will construct an Under Bridge(RUB) on the Krishnarajasagara(KRS) road railway crossing near KRS Outer Ring road junction.

Originally a Over Bridge(ROB) was proposed at the junction at a cost of Rs. 41.82 crores in 2017-18. After detailed studies it has come to light that there are constraints at the junction to move ahead with the ROB, hence a Under Bridge(RUB) is now planned in lieu of the earlier proposed ROB.

The proposed RUB dimension would be 2x 9.25 M x 5.5 M. Main carriageway would be 9.25M on each side with a vertical clearance of 5.5 M from the road.

The cost of the project will be equally shared between the Ministry of Railways and the Government of Karnataka. However, the land for the project will be acquired by the state government.

To implement the RUB, a total of 1.5 acres of land needs to be acquired. A proposal for the land acquisition will be submitted after the approval of the final GAD (General Arrangement Drawings) is obtained from the Railways.

During the recently held Gati Shakti meeting chaired by Mysuru MP Shri Pratap Simha, Railway officials present in the meeting assured to review the GAD and approve accordingly.
