Travel Time Increased for SMVT Bengaluru – Murdeshwar Express

New Departure and Arrival Timings

Starting from August 1, 2024, the timings for Train No. 16585 Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru – Murdeshwar Daily Express will be revised.

The train will depart from Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru at 19:45 hours instead of 20:15 hours. It will arrive at Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Bengaluru at 20:15 hours and depart at 20:25 hours, instead of the previous timings of 20:50 and 21:00 hours, respectively from August 1, 2024.

Reason for the Change

In recent weeks, the introduction of Train No. 20664 MGR Chennai Central – Mysuru Vande Bharat Express has caused delays for the 16585 SMVT Bengaluru – Murdeshwar Daily Express.

The new Vande Bharat Express, which crosses the 16585 SMVT Bengaluru – Murdeshwar Express between Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Bengaluru and Mysuru Jn section, has led to the 16585 express running an hour late on a regular basis, except on Wednesdays.

Impact on Passengers

To minimise delays between SMVT Bengaluru and Mysuru Jn, South Western Railway has revised the schedule of the 16585 Daily Express between Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru and Holenarsipur via Mysuru Jn.

However, this change has resulted in an increase in travel time for passengers.

Concerns Raised

Yogendra, a member of the Mysore Grahakara Parishat, commented that the revised schedule for the 16585 SMVT Bengaluru – Murdeshwar Daily Express at Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Bengaluru is dependent on the punctuality of Train No. 12609 MGR Chennai Central – Mysuru Express, which often arrives and departs Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Bengaluru late.
