October 18, 2023 – Kolkata: Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL), formerly known as Titagarh Wagons Limited, has officially entered into a contract with the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) to provide critical support for the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Phase-II Project. The contract, valued at Rs. 350 crore, covers the design, manufacture, supply, testing, commissioning, and training of 30 standard gauge cars.
Titagarh Rail Cars to roll out for Ahmedabad Metro
The company has set ambitious deadlines, with a prototype delivery expected within 70 weeks from the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) issued on August 29, 2023, and the project’s completion within 94 weeks from the same LOA.
TRSL’s cutting-edge facility in Uttarpara, located in the Hooghly district of West Bengal, India. It will serve as the primary production hub for these state-of-the-art metro cars.
The Ahmedabad Metro Rail Phase-II Project, with a total cost of Rs. 13,500 crore, is currently being executed by GMRC. This significant initiative is set to add 28.2 km of new Metro lines to the city’s existing network, further enhancing public transportation and connectivity.
