Overview

The Chief Administrative Officer, Construction, South Western Railway (SWR) acting on behalf of the President of India, has invited electronic tenders (E-Tenders) for the construction of Jagadal-Suttatti new rail line track.

This project spans a length of 28.5 kilometers between Jagadal (excluding) and Suttatti (excluding) as part of the Bagalkot-Kudachi New Line Project, covering a total of 142 kilometers. The project encompasses various aspects including signal, telecommunication, and electrical works.

Project Details

The project entails laying a new broad gauge single line between Chainage 105/500 at Jagadal and Chainage 134/000 at Suttatti, covering a distance of 28.5 kilometers.

The line is designed to accommodate a maximum train speed of 160 km/h, with an initial axle load of 25 tonnes. The construction involves providing formation, track, and bridge structures capable of withstanding this load.

Scope of Work

The scope of work includes the design and construction of civil, building, electrical, signaling, telecommunication, and track works. This encompasses the construction of eight major bridges, thirty-nine minor bridges, thirty-six road under bridges, one road over bridge, and two subways, along with associated approaches.

  • Period of Completion: The project is slated for completion within 21 months.
  • Length of the Line: The new line spans a distance of 28.5 kilometers.
  • Number of Proposed Stations: Three stations are proposed, including two crossing stations and one halt station.

  1. Rabakavi Halt Station
    • Location: CL Km: 109/075
    • Station Building Area: 50 sq.m
    • Platforms: One high-level platform (HL PF) of 270 meters
    • Railway Yards: Main line-1
  2. Terdal Crossing Station
    • Location: CL Km: 116/950
    • Station Building Area: 400 sq.m
    • Platforms: One HL PF of 570 meters, one RL goods PF of 700 meters
    • Railway Yards: Main line-1, Loop Lines-1, Goods Line-1
    • Foot Over Bridges/Subway: One RCC box limited height subway below 3 tracks and Goods PF
  3. Harugeri Crossing Station
    • Location: CL Km: 116/950
    • Station Building Area: 400 sq.m
    • Platforms: Two HL PFs each of 570 meters
    • Railway Yards: Main line-1, Loop Lines-2
    • Foot Over Bridges/Subway: One RCC box limited height subway below 3 tracks
