Suzlon Expands Green Energy Solutions for India’s Steel Industry

Suzlon has secured a 204.75 MW wind energy order from Jindal Green Wind 1 Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Jindal Renewables. This marks Suzlon’s largest Commercial & Industrial (C&I) wind energy partnership, with a total capacity of 907.20 MW.

Key Highlights:

  • Suzlon’s biggest C&I wind energy order expands from 702.45 MW to 907.20 MW.
  • 65 advanced S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a 3.15 MW capacity each will be deployed.
  • The project will be executed in Karur, Tamil Nadu.
  • The energy will support steel plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, reinforcing India’s green energy transition.
  • Suzlon’s total order book now stands at a record 5.9 GW.

Driving India’s Low CO₂ Steel Movement

Suzlon’s Vice Chairman, Girish Tanti, emphasized the role of renewable energy in decarbonizing India’s steel sector, calling Tamil Nadu a leader in wind power adoption. Bharat Saxena, President of Jindal Renewables, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainability, highlighting this deal as part of their mission to become the largest provider of low-carbon steel solutions.

JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group, stated that the company remains focused on delivering innovative wind energy solutions to support industries in reducing their carbon footprint while ensuring energy security.

This latest order solidifies Suzlon’s position as a leader in renewable energy, helping power India’s industrial sector with clean wind energy.
