SPML Infra Secures Rs 617.98 Crore Irrigation Project to boost Agriculture in Jharkhand

SPML Infra Signs ₹617.98 Crore Irrigation Project to Transform Jharkhand’s Agricultural Landscape

Kolkata, 10th March 2025 – In a significant move to bolster agricultural growth and water management in Jharkhand, SPML Infra Limited has inked a ₹617.98 crore (approximately USD 70.90 million) agreement with the Water Resource Department, Hazaribagh. The project, part of the Konar Irrigation Project, will be executed on a turnkey basis in collaboration with Vijay Kumar Mishra Construction.

The ambitious initiative aims to enhance irrigation infrastructure across 12,599.43 hectares of farmland in Bisnugarh (Hazaribagh), Nawadih (Bokaro), and Dumri (Giridih) blocks. The project scope includes the reconstruction and repair of main canals, branch canals, and distributaries, alongside the construction of solar-powered pump houses, canal lining, and advanced pipeline networks.

Key Features of the Project:

  • Reconstruction and strengthening of irrigation canals and channels.
  • Installation of a solar-powered pump house and pressure pipe water conveyance system.
  • Deployment of MS, DI, and HDPE pipelines with advanced control mechanisms.
  • Civil works including boundary walls, approach roads, and service roads.
  • A 10-year Operation, Maintenance, and Management (O&M) plan for long-term sustainability.

Mr. Subhash Sethi, Chairman of SPML Infra Limited, expressed pride in contributing to Jharkhand’s development. “This project reflects our commitment to sustainable water management and agricultural productivity.
