Hitachi Energy has announced a significant expansion of its operations in India, reinforcing its commitment to the country’s energy transformation. With a multimillion-dollar investment, the company is set to expand its transformer facilities in Mysore and Halol, adding 20,000 square meters of production and testing capacity. This move will bolster its capabilities in manufacturing Small, Medium, and Large Power Transformers, Dry Type Transformers, Traction Transformers, and Insulation and Components.
The Mysuru facility in Karnataka has inaugurated a new bay extension for high-density insulation pressboard, while the Halol facility in Vadodara laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Transformer Bushings factory. Scheduled to begin production in 2026, the Halol factory will quadruple India’s annual manufacturing capacity for Extra High Voltage (EHV) and Ultra High Voltage (UHV) transformers. Designed as a green building, the facility aligns with Hitachi Energy’s sustainability goals.

The expansions are expected to create new job opportunities and contribute to the local economy. During the Mysore event, 15 long-term Channel Partners highlighted the collaborative efforts driving this growth. Vikram Reddy from Fairy Agencies emphasized, “This expansion will reduce transformer press board imports, making India self-reliant in the energy sector.”
