In a significant step toward advancing gender equality in STEM, Samsung R&D Institute India, Bangalore (SRI-B), has inaugurated the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) at Geetha Shishu Shikshana Sangha (GSSS) Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysuru. This initiative, part of Samsung’s flagship global citizenship programme, aims to equip young women with cutting-edge skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Coding & Programming, making them industry-ready and fostering a new generation of women leaders in technology.
Launched in September 2022, the SIC programme offers an extensive curriculum designed by Samsung’s global R&D experts. Students will receive expert offline and online training, work on innovative projects, and gain mentorship from SRI-B and GSSS Institute. This initiative aligns with the Indian government’s #DigitalIndia and #MakeinIndia campaigns, empowering students to drive technological progress from within the country.
Mohan Rao Goli, Corporate Vice President and Managing Director of SRI-B, stated, “Innovation thrives when opportunities are inclusive. We are proud to inaugurate SIC at Karnataka’s first women’s engineering college, where young minds will push the boundaries of technology.”
Samsung has expanded its SIC reach, enrolling 3,500 students in 2024, up from 3,000 in 2023. This reflects Samsung’s commitment to corporate social responsibility through initiatives like SIC and Samsung Solve for Tomorrow (SFT), which aim to nurture India’s future-tech leaders.

SRI-B has established SICs in seven other Karnataka institutes, including BNM Institute of Technology and RNS Institute of Technology, training over 800 students. This latest initiative in Mysuru underscores Samsung’s mission to empower India’s youth and position the country as a global technology hub.
