Carlsberg India Invests Rs 350 Crores in Mysuru Brewery Expansion

Carlsberg India, a subsidiary of the 178-year-old Danish brewing giant, has reaffirmed its commitment to Karnataka with a significant investment of Rs. 350 crores. On the opening day of Invest Karnataka 2025, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government to expand its Mysuru brewery, marking a new chapter in its growth journey.

The investment will fund the addition of a new can line, glass line, and keg line at the Mysuru facility, significantly enhancing production capacity to meet rising consumer demand. This expansion brings Carlsberg India’s total investment in Karnataka to Rs. 600 crores, solidifying its position as a key player in the Indian beer industry.

Located in Nanjangud taluk, the 28-acre Mysuru brewery currently produces 80 million liters annually, manufacturing popular brands like Carlsberg and Tuborg. Sustainability remains a core focus, with over 85% of the brewery’s electricity sourced from renewable energy and the facility fully lit by energy-efficient LED lights.

Nilesh Patel, Managing Director of Carlsberg India, highlighted the importance of the investment, stating, “Karnataka is a key market for us, and this expansion reflects our long-term commitment to the state. It will drive economic growth and create new employment opportunities.”

Carlsberg India’s expansion aligns with its dedication to sustainability, responsible consumption, and community engagement. By combining brewing excellence with eco-friendly practices, the company continues to contribute to the growth of the Indian beer industry and the communities it serves.
