RMC Switchgears Wins Rs 201 Crore Contract for Solar Power Project in Maharashtra

Company to Lead Solarization of Agricultural Feeders in the State

08th October 2024: RMC Switchgears Ltd. has secured a significant Rs. 201 crore contract to develop a solar power project aimed at solarizing agricultural feeders in Maharashtra. This new venture highlights the company’s growing presence in the renewable energy sector and aligns with India’s ambitious climate goals.

RMC will be the lead member of a consortium. It will undertake three separate EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts. Additionally, it will manage O&M (Operations and Maintenance) contracts in the Ahmednagar district. The total order value of ₹201 crore was awarded through a competitive bidding process, including an e-reverse auction.

The company’s CEO and Whole-Time Director, Mr. Ankit Agrawal, stated, “These contracts represent a significant step forward for us, enhancing our presence in Maharashtra. We are committed to driving the transition from fossil fuels to sustainable energy sources. We also ensure a reliable power supply for farmers.”

With this contract, RMC Switchgears is making notable strides toward India’s renewable energy goals under the Paris Agreement. The company is contributing to the country’s target of 450 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
