Railways to construct a new railway line between Kyarakoppa and Mummigatti part of Dharwad Belagavi New railway Line

Indian Railways has initiated the process to construct a new broad gauge (BG) line between Kyarakoppa (Excl.) and Mummigatti (Incl.) by inviting bids. Total length of the line is 11.700 KM running from Chainage 6100 to Chainage 17800. The project shall be undertaken in Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) mode. This new line is a part of 73.10 KM Dharwad Belagavi New Railway line Project.

The request for proposal includes the construction of the new BG Railway Gauge Line, Railway Telecommunication & Electrical Works between Kyarakoppa(Excl.) to Mummigatti (incl) Stations.

Estimated Project Cost (in Rs. Crore) 243.66 Cr

Length in Kilometres 11.70 with maximum design speed of 160 KMPH

Period of Completion 24 Months

New Railway Line Features

  • Mammigatti Crossing Station at Chainage 16.875 Km with Station Building with S&T accommodation, 1 Subway, 2 no’s High Level Platform each of 570 metres and 1 no of Goods platform of 650 metres
  • 11 Minor Bridges/Culverts
  • 19 Road Under Bridges (RUB) and Road Over Bridges (ROB)
  • 1 Railway Level Crossing

This new railway line will provide an alternate short distance route between Dharwad and Belagavi. The proposed line will be a single line with one train system connecting Kyarakoppa yard of Hubballi-Vasco main line.
