The NTPC Group has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the mark of 400 Billion Units (BU) of total electricity generation in the current financial year, as of March 13, 2024. In the preceding fiscal year 2022-23, the company had generated 399.3 BU.
This remarkable achievement has been realized with an average Plant Loading Factor (PLF) of 77.06% for NTPC’s coal stations until March 13, 2024, in the current financial year.
Earlier in the year, NTPC recorded its highest single-day power generation of 1,428 Million Units on September 1, 2023. This outstanding performance of NTPC units underscores the expertise of NTPC engineers and the effectiveness of its Operation & Maintenance practices and systems.
Furthermore, this accomplishment reaffirms NTPC’s commitment to providing reliable and affordable power to the nation.
While NTPC’s installed power capacity stands at 75.4 GW, an additional 18 GW capacity, including 5 GW of renewables, is currently under construction. The company is steadfast in its endeavor to achieve 60 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by the year 2032.
In addition to power generation, NTPC has diversified into various new business areas, including e-mobility, Waste-to-Energy, and Green Hydrogen solutions. It has also actively participated in the bidding process for power distribution in Union Territories.
