Ayodhya, 17 January: Today marks a historic milestone as Union Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel, Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia, flagged off the inaugural flight connecting Ayodhya to Bangalore and Kolkata. This significant development expands Ayodhya’s air connectivity to all four corners of the country.
Dignitaries Grace the Ceremony
The ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Road Transport & Highways, Gen (Dr.) V.K. Singh (Retd.), who joined Shri Scindia in initiating these crucial air routes.

Ayodhya’s Comprehensive Air Network
In his address, Shri Scindia highlighted that Ayodhya is now linked to Delhi in the North, Ahmedabad in the West, Bangalore in the South, and Kolkata in the East. This accomplishment aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision, ensuring Ayodhya’s connectivity within 17 days of the launch of the ‘Maharshi Valmiki International Airport.’
Boosting Devotional Tourism
The Union Minister emphasized that this enhanced connectivity aims to facilitate devotees from across the nation to visit the newly built grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. He commended the support of the Uttar Pradesh government in rapidly developing aviation infrastructure in the state.

Uttar Pradesh’s Soaring Airport Expansion
Minister Scindia announced that Uttar Pradesh is set to have a total of 16 airports by the end of the year, with a projected increase to 19 airports by 2025. He applauded the state government for their proactive role in supporting airport development.
Air India Express Takes the Lead
Air India Express will operate the Tri-Weekly Ayodhya flight, available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, effective immediately. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Gen (Dr.) V.K. Singh (Retd.), expressed gratitude to Air India Express and the Uttar Pradesh government for their continuous support. He stressed that this initiative symbolizes a commitment to expanding air connectivity, promoting accessibility, and fostering economic development in the connected cities.
