This marks a significant contribution to the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door Off Road Vehicle
The Jimny 5-Door, a beloved off-road vehicle, is now on its way to various international destinations, including Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. Maruti Suzuki, renowned as the top passenger vehicle exporter for two consecutive years, introduced this expansion as part of their ongoing efforts to cater to the global market’s demand for robust and versatile SUVs.
The journey of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door began when it was first unveiled at the Auto Expo in 2023. Since then, this vehicle has been solely manufactured in India. It exemplifies the spirit of ‘Make in India, for the world,’ showcasing the country’s capabilities to produce world-class vehicles.
This isn’t the first time Maruti Suzuki has ventured into exporting the Jimny series. In November 2020, Maruti Suzuki began production of the 3-door Jimny. It was meant exclusively for export to regions such as Latin America and Africa. In June 2023, they introduced the Jimny 5-Door variant for the Indian domestic market.
