Mahindra’s new CNG tractor, developed and tested at Mahindra Research Valley, Chennai, promises top-notch emission control, performance, and operational cost efficiency. This marks a significant step forward in alternative engine technology for agriculture, as it matches the power and performance of diesel-run tractors.

Environmentally Conscious Farming
The eco-friendly CNG tractor from Mahindra demonstrates a remarkable reduction of nearly 70% in emissions compared to diesel tractors. With lower engine vibrations leading to quieter operations (3.5db lower than diesel tractors), the tractor enhances both working hours and engine lifespan, ensuring increased operator comfort for various applications.
Versatile and Economic
Mahindra’s CNG tractor, equipped to handle diverse agricultural and haulage tasks, features four tanks with a total water capacity of 45 litres each or 24 KG of gas at 200-bar pressure. Not only does it showcase environmental benefits, but it also brings economic advantages, with an anticipated saving of INR 100 per hour over diesel tractors.

Mahindra plans to launch CNG tractors after a thorough assessment of market readiness and responses to this pioneering technology. The company envisions contributing to sustainable and efficient farming practices with its innovative solutions.
