The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) is establishing the “Metikurke Industrial Area” to support medium and small-scale industries by providing them with easy access to ready-to-use infrastructure facilities in the industrial areas developed and managed by KIADB. This industrial area will cover an expanse of 467.938 hectares (1156 acres and 12 gunta) in the villages of Kariyobenahalli, Hiriyuru Taluk, Chitradurga District, Karnataka.

Project Cost
The estimated cost for the development project is approximately Rs. 80,131.37 lakhs, which includes land acquisition and development expenses.
Size of Operation
467.938 hectares (1156 acres) of land has been acquired for the development of the Metikurke Industrial Area.
The primary development will comprise industrial plots of varying sizes. KIADB intends to develop 330 industrial plots within the proposed industrial area. In addition to the industrial plots, common amenities will be built, below are the details.

Connectivity to KIADB Metikurke Industrial Area Chitradurga
The Metikurke Industrial Area enjoys excellent connectivity, making it convenient for businesses to access various markets. Skilled and unskilled laborers are readily available in the vicinity, contributing to a strong workforce. The site benefits from well-developed road networks, enhancing accessibility.

Road Connectivity
The nearest access road to the site is NH-48, also known as the Pune-Bangalore Highway. The industrial layout strategically locates itself in close proximity to Hiriyur, ensuring convenient access to major transportation routes.
Additionally, the site is conveniently situated near NH 150 A, connecting Chamrajanagar to Bidar districts via Bellary, and NH 48, a prominent trunk route that links Pune and Bengaluru. To the south of the site, SH 24 provides further connectivity, leading to Shivamogga. This comprehensive network of roads facilitates efficient transportation to and from the Metikurke Industrial Area.
Rail Connectivity
The area has great connectivity by railways further enhancing its accessibility.. The nearest railway station is Dodda Siddawanahalli Railway Station, located 9.7 km northwest of the project site.
Airport Connectivity
The nearest airport is Shivamogga Airport, situated 108 km from the proposed site.
Employment Generation
During the project’s development phase, it will create a substantial number of both direct and indirect employment opportunities. The construction phase alone will require approximately 200 personnel. Furthermore, once the industries within the industrial area become operational, we project that more than 5000 employees will be working there. This workforce will consist of 2000 permanent positions and 3000 contractual positions.
