Commitment to Environmental Responsibility: Reducing Carbon Emissions
The MoU reflects the shared commitment of IGL and CONCOR to reduce carbon emissions and contribute to a cleaner, greener future for the transportation industry. LNG trucks, with significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional diesel trucks, align with global sustainability goals.
Key Highlights of the MoU:
- LNG Infrastructure at CONCOR Terminals: The initial phase involves the installation of LNG and LCNG facilities at the Dadri (Gautam Budh Nagar) terminal of CONCOR.
- Railway Transport Possibilities: Exploring the potential transportation of LNG through railway rakes from LNG terminals near sea ports (e.g., Dahej, Gujarat) to various locations within India.
- Transition to LNG-Fired Engines: Joint examination of the feasibility of replacing existing diesel-fired engines with LNG-fired engines at various CONCOR terminals.
- Progressive Expansion Plans: Based on the experience gained from the planned LNG facility at CONCOR Dadri terminal, replication of the infrastructure at other terminals is envisioned in the future.
