Foot Over Bridges to come up on Mysuru Bengaluru Highway

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to build 24 numbers Foot Over Bridges on Mysuru Bengaluru Highway (NH275)

The Mysuru-Bengaluru NH 275 national highway is categorised as an access-controlled route. Its alignment traverses through a peri-urban setting, thus highlighting the need for establishing secure crossings for the general public across the highway.

In response to this requirement, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken the initiative to develop Foot over Bridges (FOBs) at 24 specific locations along the Bengaluru-Nidagatta-Mysuru stretch of NH-275. This development spans from Chainage Kilometer 18.000 to Kilometer 135.304 within the state of Karnataka.

To achieve this objective, NHAI is employing an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contract model. This strategic approach involves orchestrating the entire process of designing, procuring resources, and constructing the Foot over Bridges through a unified framework.

Estimated Project Cost (In Rs.): 46,10,05,504 Exclusive of GST

Features of the FOB

  • FOB type- Steel truss with RCC deck slab
  • FOB staircase- Steel structure- Steel stringer beams & steps 
  • Width of the FOB ~ 63 M. With a middle support from the highway median.
  • Minimum Head clearance @ walkway ~ 3.0 M
  • Minimum FOB walkway width ~ 3.5 M
  • Minimum Staircase width ~ 2.0 M
  • FRP translucent sheet roof

The project will include construction of Foot Over Bridge at the above 24 locations on the Bengaluru – Nidaghatta – Mysuru Section from Km.18.000 to Km.135.304 of NH-275.
