Central Railway has introduced a cutting-edge solution to streamline the testing of LHB power cars, marking a significant leap in efficiency. The deployment of Static Water Load Testing Units at coaching depots in Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Wadi Bunder is a pioneering move, making it the first facility of its kind on Central Railway.

The Vital Role of Power Cars

Power cars play a crucial role in supplying electricity to various train components, including lights, fans, air conditioning, and mobile charging points. Post-maintenance, these power cars undergo a vital capacity and voltage check, commonly known as load testing. However, the conventional testing procedure was time-consuming and faced operational challenges due to limited space availability.
