UGC NET December 2023 Registration Open-Apply Online

Online Application Form for UGC NET December 2023 is now open on UGC NET Website.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting the UGC NET. This test is designed to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for positions as an ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges.

In December 2023, the NTA will conduct UGC NET for the ‘Junior Research Fellowship’ and eligibility for the ‘Assistant Professor’ roles in 83 subjects in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

Important Dates

Submission of Online Application Form: 30 September 2023 to 28 October 2023 (upto 05:00 P.M.)

Last date for submission of Examination fee (through CreditCard/ Debit Card/Net Banking /UPI: 29 October 2023 (upto 11:50 P.M.)

Correction in the Particulars in Online Application Form: 30 – 31 October 2023 (upto 11:50 P.M)

Downloading of Admit Card from NTA Website: First week of the December 2023

Dates of Examination: 06 December 2023 to 22 December 2023

About the Exam

  1. JRF and Assistant Professorship Eligibility: The eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professorship in the UGC-NET examination is determined by the aggregate performance of candidates in Paper-I and Paper-II. Candidates who qualify both papers can choose to pursue either JRF or Assistant Professorship. However, those who qualify only for Assistant Professorship are not eligible for the JRF award.
  • Recruitment for Assistant Professorship: Candidates who qualify for the eligibility test for Assistant Professorship are subject to the recruitment rules and regulations of the respective universities, colleges, or state governments where they apply for teaching positions. The specific requirements and processes for Assistant Professor recruitment may vary depending on the institutions and state governments.

UGC NET Examination Cycle

UGC-NET is conducted twice every year, in the months of June and December. This examination provides an opportunity for candidates to demonstrate their eligibility for JRF and Assistant Professorship.
