Bengaluru, September 26, 2024: Tejas Networks, a leading Indian telecom equipment manufacturer, marked a significant milestone as Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Union Minister of Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region, inaugurated the “Tejas Center of Excellence for Wireless Communications” at the company’s headquarters in Bengaluru. During the event, the Minister also unveiled Tejas Networks’ indigenously designed 32T32R Massive MIMO radio, which is capable of delivering over 1 Gbps download speeds using the 5G mid-band spectrum.
Expressing his appreciation, the Union Minister remarked, “Tejas Networks has demonstrated that Indian companies can design and manufacture high-quality, cutting-edge products and successfully compete against the best global players in the telecom sector. I was truly impressed to see the wide range of world-class wireless and wireline products that Tejas has developed in India, forming an integral part of major networks not only in India but also in several countries around the world.”
The newly established “Tejas Center of Excellence for Wireless Communications” aims to bolster research in advanced technologies, standards, and architectures essential for the evolution of next-generation mobile networks, progressing towards 6G and beyond. Equipped with state-of-the-art modeling tools and testing infrastructure, the Center will facilitate the design, prototyping, and commercialization of innovative wireless solutions to address emerging use cases, in alignment with the International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) 2030 framework set by ITU-R.
The facility is set to focus on areas like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC), Massive MIMO, Terahertz Communications, Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS), and Sub-band Full Duplex (SBFD), which are poised to redefine the future of wireless technology. This Center reaffirms Tejas Networks’ dedication to advancing indigenous research and contributing to the global telecom landscape.
Tejas Networks’ indigenous 32T32R Massive MIMO radio is set to revolutionize the country’s 5G network capabilities by offering enhanced coverage, speed, and capacity. With this product, Tejas Networks aims to position itself as a key player in the global 5G ecosystem.
