Nidec Industrial Automation India Private Limited, a subsidiary of Nidec Corporation, held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new factory campus in Hubballi-Dharwad, Karnataka, on September 5, 2023.
Nidec Group has made its latest strategic global investment in a new Indian facility to support its Motion & Energy business. With three operational facilities in India currently running at full capacity, this expansion positions Nidec Motion & Energy to establish a strong manufacturing presence in alignment with India’s rapidly expanding economy, set to become the world’s third-largest.”
NIDEC Industrial Automation India will Establish its Motion & Energy factory in Hubballi
This new state-of-the-art campus will host six plants, each dedicated to supporting various segments within Motion & Energy. It will leverage advanced equipment, automation, and Nidec Group’s 3Q6S lean manufacturing processes to ensure that every unit manufactured is best-in-class. Additionally, the company aims to make the campus carbon-neutral by 2028 by harnessing many of the current technologies available within Nidec. The campus will mark Nidec Motion & Energy’s fourth facility in India and its largest to date, covering an area of 30 acres.
The campus will produce a wide range of motors, generators, drives, and system solutions, with the goal of becoming the market leader in India. It will be across segments that include renewable energy, data centers, industrial applications, infrastructure, and electric vehicles (EV).”
