Two Million Square Feet Business Park and 775 Keys Hotel to Revolutionize Area Near Kempegowda International Airport

Bengaluru, May 24, 2024 – Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL) has announced exciting new plans to transform the area around Kempegowda International Airport. This major development includes a two million square feet business park and a 775 keys hotel, set to revolutionize the local landscape.

A Blend of Work and Play

The new business park will feature smart workspaces within a vibrant public realm. Inspired by biophilic design, it aims to create a dynamic environment where work and play seamlessly blend. A central feature will be the Urban Forest, a lush green space that connects indoor and outdoor areas.

Easy Access with New Metro Station

Accessibility is a key part of the plan, with a new Metro station providing easy connectivity to the business park from the northern side of Airport City.

A Hub for Business and Innovation

Rao Munukutla, CEO of BACL, spoke about the project: “This investment will transform the Airport City into a bustling hub for businesses, R&D centers, and global capability centers. Our focus on sustainability and world-class infrastructure will create a thriving environment, bringing job opportunities and a positive socio-economic impact.”

Expansion of Hospitality and Entertainment

The development also includes expanding hospitality and entertainment options.

Introducing the Combo Hotel

Set to become one of the largest hotels in India, the Combo Hotel will feature 775 keys, divided between the Vivanta brand (450 keys) and the Ginger brand (325 keys). Expected to be completed by the end of 2026, it will cater to business travelers and tourists, emphasizing sustainability and guest comfort.

Concert Arena for Spectacular Events

A new Concert Arena with a capacity for 10,000 attendees will also be built, enhancing Airport City’s reputation as a hub for entertainment and cultural events.

Enhancing Existing Facilities

The Taj Bangalore hotel has expanded to offer 370 keys, meeting the growing demand for luxury accommodations.

Innovative Additions

The Airport City is also home to a 3D printing facility in collaboration with Voxeljet Germany and a Central Kitchen by SATS Singapore, capable of producing 170,000 ready-to-eat meals per day.

Commitment to Sustainability

BACL’s commitment to sustainability has earned it the Indian Green Building Council’s Green Cities Platinum certification. The development aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring the Airport City is inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.

This ambitious project is set to bring new energy and excitement to Bengaluru Airport City, making it a premier destination for business, hospitality, and entertainment.
