Vande Bharat Express to Mysuru
The Member of Parliament from Mysuru-Kodagu Shri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar is advocating for the extension of the proposed Tirupati-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express to Mysuru. The proposal to operate the Vande Bharat train between Bengaluru and Tirupati is still in its early stages. The schedule is yet to be finalised. The MP believes extending it to Mysuru would benefit nearby areas such as Mandya, Hassan, Chamarajanagar, and Kodagu.
The MP also highlighted the need to identify a suitable path between Mysuru and Bengaluru. He noted that platform arrangements at Mysuru Railway Station could be easily managed.
Upgrading Mysuru Railway Station
Another key issue raised by the MP is the need to expedite the development and upgrade of Mysuru Railway Station. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has already been submitted, and the MP is urging authorities to fast-track the approval process. Upgrading the station would improve facilities and service for the growing number of passengers passing through Mysuru.
Shifting the Maharaja Saloon Coach to Mysuru
The MP has also called for the Maharaja Saloon Coach. It is currently preserved at the National Rail Museum in New Delhi. The MP wants it to be relocated to Mysuru. This coach is part of the historic Maharaja Special train. Moving it to Mysuru would complement the existing Maharani Saloon and dining saloon at the Mysuru Rail Museum. The MP’s office is actively working with the Ministry of Railways to make this relocation a reality.
