Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) celebrates a significant milestone. It has exported the Hyundai EXTER to South Africa. This marks its commitment to international markets.

A Milestone in Exports

Hyundai Motor India Limited proudly announces that the Hyundai EXTER is now being exported to South Africa. It becomes the eighth model in HMIL’s export lineup since 2004. This year also marks the 20th anniversary of HMIL’s exports to South Africa. This milestone emphasizes the long-standing relationship and the importance of this market.

The EXTER Joins an Esteemed Lineup

The Hyundai EXTER is part of an impressive portfolio. This portfolio includes other popular models. Examples are the GRAND i10 NIOS, AURA, i20, i20 N Line, VENUE, VENUE N Line, and ALCAZAR. This expansion underscores HMIL’s position as the largest exporter of passenger vehicles from India.

Insights from Hyundai Leadership

Mr. Jae Wan Ryu, Function Head – Corporate Planning at HMIL, expressed optimism about the EXTER’s reception in South Africa. He stated, “South Africa has always been an important export market for HMIL. Most of the models manufactured at our factory in Tamil Nadu are exported here. The EXTER embodies our commitment to quality, and I am confident it will replicate its success in India.”

A Strong Start

HMIL has commenced the export of the EXTER with the dispatch of an initial lot of 996 units. The vehicle has already achieved remarkable success in India, surpassing 100,000 sales within just one year of its launch. In 2024, the EXTER will be offered in exciting new variants. These include Hy-CNG (Dual Cylinder CNG) and the Knight Edition. These new variants will further enhance its appeal in both domestic and international markets.

Hyundai’s commitment to quality manufacturing is evident. The EXTER makes its debut on South African shores. This reinforces the slogan: “Made in India, Made for the World.”
