Mysuru, December 22, 2023: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasised the government’s commitment to providing free healthcare for the working classes while laying the foundation stone for the Peripheral Cancer Center of Kidwai Memorial Cancer Institute.

Government’s Concern for Free Treatment

In a statement, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed the government’s concern for the working classes, ensuring they receive medical treatment without financial strain. He spoke during the foundation stone-laying ceremony, which also included the inauguration of the ladies’ hostel of Mysore Medical Research Institute for Girls.

Key Initiatives for Mysore’s Healthcare

The Chief Minister highlighted his role in sanctioning essential healthcare facilities for Mysuru, including a District Hospital, Trauma Center, and Kidwai hospital. He revealed that 40 crores have already been allocated, with an additional 50 crores to be sanctioned. Responding to the demand for a Nephrology Centre, he assured that the matter would be seriously considered.

Addressing Specific Medical Needs

Acknowledging Dr. Yatindra’s request, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced plans to establish a Bone Marrow Treatment facility in Mysuru. He stressed the importance of providing all necessary medical facilities to Mysore, considering its rapid growth as the second-fastest-growing city after Bengaluru.

Commitment to Affordable Healthcare

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring healthcare is not a financial burden for the people with low-income and working classes. He emphasized the need for free or low-cost health treatment, underscoring the government’s dedication to upholding the heritage and pride of Mysuru.

Future Commitments to Mysuru

Assuring continued support, the Chief Minister pledged to provide all necessary aid to Mysore during the government’s tenure. He expressed the commitment to uphold the pride of the heritage city and stated, “We are committed to pay back to the people of Mysuru District.”

The function, presided over by Chamaraja Constituency MLA K. Harish Gowda, saw the presence of officials from the Medical Education Department, signifying collective efforts towards enhancing healthcare in Mysuru.
