Chennai based Maris Spinners Limited, started its manufacturing unit in Kattemalalavadi village, Hunsur taluk, Mysore District in 1981. The Company presently manufactures 100% cotton carded yarn of counts 30s, and 40s for weaving, knitting and handlooms.
The company has a sound track record of productivity, and has been producing high quality yarn for the domestic market. There are over 200 customers domestically and have started to export their produce to overseas customers too.

History in brief
The Mysuru unit started its commercial production on 9th March 1981, with an installed spindleage of 11856. This was increased to 24672 spindles in 1991. Based on the demand, the company expanded its spindleage capacity periodically. The present capacity at Hunsur is 28704 spindles and is adding additional 7,488 spindles at an investment of INR 37.10 Crores to its capacity. So, by July/ August 2022, the expansion work should be over.
Company went public in 1995
On 13-Dec-1995, the company shares were listed on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Since inception, the stock is performing well and has given decent returns.
Maris Spinners belong to a group with diverse interests
The group has interests in Tea Estates, Hotels, and Green power generation etc., as well. The company is well managed by directors at the board level. The units are managed by qualified and experienced managerial teams under the guidance of the Board of Directors
